Description
The Code School curriculum and course structure is based on needs identified by area employers to strengthen employee skill with a full-stack, team-based, project-oriented program that builds both technical and soft skill competencies for web application development. It is a nine-month program that includes two evenings per week and a weekly Saturday lab.
Competencies
- Model View Controller architecture and web services
- Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular
- Back-end: Java, Spring, RDMS, Hibernate
- TDD, DevOps & CI/DC principles
- Scaled Agile (SAFe) concepts
- Solution definition, prototyping and MVP
- Stakeholder communication
- Pair programming and team-based collaboration
Students gain competencies across the spectrum of technical and soft skill disciplines required for contemporary web application development. Topics include the basics of client-side and server-side web components by working with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Java and MySQL. Advanced topics including the Angular and Spring frameworks as well as DevOps are covered later in the program to prepare students to form teams which build and deploy real-world applications in the capstone phase.
